Back to the Business Games!!

This year has started off with a jam packed schedule of business games and workshops at schools all over the UAE. Many schools have participated for the first time and are keen to keep this trend going every year. Schools who had played the Business Games in the last academic year played the games this year with greater enthusiasm and strived to come up with better and bigger ideas.

Needless to say, the students of today’s generation have a remarkable creative and entrepreneurial streak in them. To find out more about the business game and to register, please visit our landing page. For more info on the Workshops get in touch with me on mkhan@synergy.university

Students were also encouraged to role play for different positions to get a first-hand experience of what it is like to work in the industry.

Dubai: A new mobile application launched by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) will allow parents to track their children’s progress. KHDA’s new mobile app will allow parents to sign the parent-school contract from the comfort of their home or office. The app features a ‘Happy Home’ section for parents which will allow them to track their child’s progress with personalized information.

Dubai private schools to be inspected on unified framework

DUBAI // All private schools in the emirate will now be inspected on a new, unified UAE school inspection framework. Inspectors from The Dubai School Inspection Bureau at Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) will now focus on UAE National Agenda 2021. It means the 169 private schools in the emirate, who cater to 255,000 pupils and follow 16 different curricula must aim to reach the goals laid out under the agenda. This will involve taking part in international and external benchmarking tests other than PISA and TIMSS on an annual basis and using that data to improve curriculums.

Nurturing is mightier than the rod

Hitting and publicly humiliating a child could have detrimental long-term effects on the student's well-being and school performance, according to education and child psychology experts in the UAE. "A child who experiences physical abuse is likely to experience the world as an unsafe place which can cause them anxiety," said clinical psychologist Amy Bailey, Head of Psychology at KidFIRST Medical Centre in Dubai. She added: "The level of this anxiety depends on the extent to which the abuse has occurred (whether it is one off or continuous).

Highlights on Sci-Fi science festival Dubai

From a single droplet of water to the vast cosmic void, science is everything and everywhere. There’s an element of science in everything we do, even in the simplest things. This is what SciFest Dubai is all about according to founder and CEO, Lara Matossian. “Our motto is ‘You don’t have to be a scientist to love science’. I’m not a scientist, but I understand the importance of being scientifically literate,” she explains. “We don’t just want people to realise science is cool – because it is! More importantly, it also explains everything. If you understand how the scientific method works, you then become sceptical and look at the world from a scientifically literate perspective.
